On the 26th of April the Zimbabwe Council of Churches(ZCC) with support from Save the Children International (SCI) and the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MHOCC) capacitated 46 inter-faith leaders 21 Male & 25 Female on proper health and hygiene practices to prevent the spread of cholera in Epworth.
The various inter-faith leaders from the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs in Zimbabwe (SCIAZ), Union for the Development of Apostolic Churches (UDACIZA), and ZCC member churches are expected to utilize their role as church leaders to raise awareness on health and hygiene practices and influence the adoption of good practices among their congregants and communities.
Furthermore, to reduce Cholera morbidity and mortality in cholera hotspots in Harare, ZCC conducted a cholera awareness roadshow in Epworth to raise awareness among the general public on proper health and hygiene standards. Save the Children in Zimbabwe Everyone
