FAITH REJOICES IN HOPE
Though the fig tree does not blossom and no fruit is on the vines; though the produce of the olive fails and the fields yield no food;-----yet I will rejoice in the Lord--- (Habakkuk 3:17-18)
Habakkuk prophesied at a time when the wicked were prospering and the righteous were suffering. He complained to God in the first two chapters. In chapter 2:1 he climbed and sat on top of a tower and his language changed from complaining to rejoicing. Symbolically, he was now on top of the problems. The other meaning is that he went into the spirit realm.
When we are at the same level with our problems, we complain and see defeat but when we are on a tower, high on top of our problems (high spiritual level), we praise God. Habakkuk started praising God before the situation was changed. Habakkuk was not like Miriam who started praising after they crossed the Read sea. Those who know the nature of our God will start to praise in front of their Red Sea.
Faith does not wait to rejoice only when victory has been achieved but it rejoices in hope knowing that God is able to make all situations to work together for good to them that believe. Habakkuk did not wait until the conditions were just right. He did not wait until he made enough money, or passed the exam, or healed of cancer, or had find a job. He praised the Lord no matter what.
Joy in God is never out of season. Do not focus on your mountain, on your situation or your loss, focus on what God is doing. Just praise Him no matter what.
To God be the glory
