Fear Not

 *DAILY DEVOTION MCZ MISSION DEPARTMENT*

*Mark 4:40* 

_He said to them, "Why are you afraid? Have you no faith"._

 

Faith is a very important factor in the calming of the storms in our lives. At the same time, we can perpetuate the storms through our fear. 

When the disciples woke Jesus from his sleep, in the midst of the storm, they were panicking because of fear. So Jesus questioned why they were afraid. To Jesus, the fear of the disciples was a sign that they had no faith. If they had the faith, they could have dealt with the storm. Fear and faith therefore do not mix together. One is needed to replace the other. 

As children of God we need to get rid of fear and be filled with faith so that we can deal with the storms in our lives.

 *Prayer* 

Lord Jesus, your word says that you are the author and finisher of our faith. We pray that you may give us enough faith to face and deal with the storms of life, and at the same time remove fear from our hearts. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
