The ZCC continues to leverage its interfaith network across Zimbabwe to raise awareness and improve health and hygiene related knowledge, attitudes, and practices among inter-religious groups
This week, in an effort to reduce Cholera morbidity and mortality in and around Harare, Zimbabwe Council of Churches (ZCC) with support from Save the Children International (SCI) and the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC) conducted a cholera sensitization meeting at Utano Center in Chitungwiza
The meeting was attended by 34 interfaith leaders (18 Male: 16 Female) from various religious groups namely ZINATHA, SCIAZ, Muslim, UDACIZA, Dare Remweya, and ZCC member churches. Increasing awareness on safe sanitation and hygiene standards among inter-religious leaders is important inorder to reduce disease prevalence especially at a time when most religious groups will be holding gatherings to celebrate the Easter holidays.
