To promote social unity among host communities and internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the Runyararo community of Chimanimani district, the Zimbabwe Council of Churches (ZCC) and the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Development, and Vocational Training, with support from Act for Peace (AFP), organized a Sports for Peace tournament on May 11, 2024.
The tournament took place at Chayamiti Primary School, where football, volleyball, and netball teams engaged in friendly sportsmanship.
These Sports for Peace tournaments are part of the ZCC's initiatives to strengthen social bonds, foster community cohesion, and bridge social divisions in IDP communities in Runyararo and Tongogara. @Act for Peace Australian Embassy, Zimbabwe @DiakoniaThe United Church of Canada
