The Zimbabwean Council of Churches (ZCC) has extended its congratulations to Mrs. Nyemba on her appointment as the Permanent Secretary (PS) for the Ministry of Justice, Parliamentary and Legal Affairs.
In a recent meeting, the ZCC leadership and the new PS engaged in reflective discussions on various national issues, including the role of the church in the public sphere, concerns over the shrinking civic space, matters of devolution, the need for structured dialogue on debt and arrears and constitutional and legal justice matters.
The church emphasized its commitment to a constructive, dialogue-based approach in engaging the government on these important topics, rather than resorting to media confrontation.
The ZCC also expressed pride in the fact that members of its constituent churches hold positions of civil service, including the new Permanent Secretary. The council sees this as a testament to the active participation of Christians in public service.
