The Salvation Army's Women's Ministries is set to host its largest gathering in Zimbabwe, the 2024 Territorial Home League Rally, from July 25 to 27 at Chombira, Chiweshe Division.

The highly anticipated event is expected to draw over 20,000 Women from Zimbabwe and Botswana Territory (Madagascar).

Led by Commissioner Tracey Kasuso, Territorial President of Women's Ministries, the rally promises to be a momentous occasion, building on the success of previous gatherings.

The last major Women's Ministries event, SARPCO, was held at Showgrounds in Harare, in 2019 while previous Territorial Home  League rallies took place in Masiye Camp in 2011 and Munyati in 2007.

The Salvation Army has a rich history in Zimbabwe, dating back to 1891, with a strong focus on empowering and supporting women.

The Women's Ministries in Zimbabwe have been active since the early 20th century, promoting spiritual growth, education, and community service.

Over the years, the Church has addressed various issues affecting women, including literacy and vocational training in the 1960s and 1970s, as well as gender-based violence, HIV/AIDS, and economic empowerment in recent years.

This year's rally is poised to be a milestone event, solidifying The Salvation Army's commitment to women's empowerment and community development in Zimbabwe. - Salvationist online
