Whenever Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed, and whenever he lowered his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses' hands grew weary, so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it, while Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side. So his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.
Exodus 17:11-12 ESV
When Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed.
Up the hill Moses lifted his hands in intercession for the breakthrough of the Israelites.
When Moses raised his hands, Israel prevailed.
We need people of our time, who lift up their hands in prayer.
People who can confidently say, "Hear my cry for mercy as I call to you for help, as I lift up my hands toward your Most Holy Place." Psalm 28:2
Moses appealed to God for help through the lifting of his hands in prayer.
"I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing." 1 Timothy 2:8
Lifting of hands may mean surrendering it to God, admitting that hatina Simba pachedu ane Simba ndiMwari.
In our humility, we need to give it to God in prayer.
Just imagine the victory we encounter through those who are committed to lift up their hands in prayer.
Aaron and Hur discovered that victory was in the lifting of Moses' hands and they had to find a way to let it happen and all the Israelites celebrated the win at last.
Dear friends, we need each other in every battle.
If you stand alone you will grow weary and weak but with the help of others you will get there.
That is why we sing, "Ndinamatire ndigokunamatirawo."
It is high time we should stand together in fighting all those battles around us.
Think of the early Church (Acts 2:1;44;46) "For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." Matthew 18:20.
Let us pray for all the programmes ahead of us as Zimbabwe and Botswana Territory (Madagascar)
Blessed week. - Salvationist online
