The ZCC General Secretary (GS)Rev. Wilfred Dimingu led a delegation comprising of Bishop Nyabonda (Methodist Church in Zimbabwe), Dean Hove (Evangelical Lutheran Church in Zimbabwe), Rev. Mutepfe, and Rev. Sibanda on a monitoring visit to the Felm funded Emergency Nutrition project at Chinyu Primary School in Mwenezi district where they witnessed a food distribution exercise. A total of 600 individuals comprising of Under 5 children and preganant and lactating women are receiving Corn Soya Blend + porridge monthly to improve their nutritional status
The Secretary General then proceeded to Gwanda district where they also witnessed a similar activity. In Gwanda he was accompanied by Bishop Ginya, Mrs Ginya, Rev. Chimuka, Mr Chimuka, Rev. N Dube and Rev. B Bundo.
As part of the organization's broad El-Nino response efforts, the beneficiaries received 5kg CSB+ to enhance the nutrition status of pregnant and lactating women and children under 5 who are at risk of malnutrition due to food insecurity.
During the visit to Gwanda, the delegation met and interacted with various government stakeholders who include the Secretary for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, District Development Coordinator's (DDC) Office, the District Nutritionist, Village Health Workers, and beneficiaries.
