Called To Testify

*Leviticus 5:1*

“If you are called to testify about something you have seen or that you know about, it is sinful to refuse to testify, and you will be punished for your sin.

*Testify*

To testify is to bear witness on something based on personal knowledge. As we relate to the world around us, we may be called upon to testify. But our natural instinct is to not want to be involved particularly if this may result in someone getting into trouble after we testify. But we must understand that when we testify, our objective is not to get anyone in trouble but state the truth as we have witnessed it. We should have the courage to testify - after all refusal to testify is a sin. 

Our reluctance to testify is the reason why we struggle in getting testimonies in church. God is at work in our lives but we do not want to testify of the works of the living God. We have seen and known about what God has done in our lives and we should testify.

*Prayer*

Lord God, help us to be bold enough to stand for the truth and testify whenever we called to do so. Amen
