Police, Church Unite Against Crime in Bulawayo

By A Correspondent

On Tuesday, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) launched a significant initiative in collaboration with local churches in Bulawayo, aimed at combating crime in the community. The event kicked off with a march from Drill Hall at 8:30 AM, culminating at City Hall, where the main program was scheduled to start at 10:00 AM.

This partnership emphasizes the importance of community involvement in crime prevention and highlights the role of faith-based organizations in fostering safety and security. Participants from various congregations joined law enforcement personnel, demonstrating a united front against criminal activity.

The event is part of a broader campaign under the hashtag #TogetherWeFight, which encourages community members to engage actively in ensuring their neighborhoods are safe. The Zimbabwe Council of Churches and the ZHOCD Chiredzi played pivotal roles in mobilizing support for this initiative.

As the march proceeded through the streets, it served not only as a demonstration of solidarity but also as a call to action for all citizens to participate in the fight against crime. Attendees expressed hope that such collaborations would lead to more proactive measures and a stronger sense of community responsibility.
