The Zimbabwe Council of Churches, in partnership with the District Development Coordinator's office and the Department of Social Development, has commenced the registration process for a Food Assistance Program in Bikita Ward 18 and Gutu Ward 16. This vital initiative, funded by The United Church of Canada and the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, aims to provide relief and support to 12,000 individuals affected by hunger in the district.
Through this program, the Zimbabwe Council of Churches seeks to improve nutrition, reduce hunger, and increase food security among vulnerable communities. The registration exercise, currently underway, will continue throughout the week to ensure all eligible participants are registered to receive food assistance.
This collaborative effort demonstrates the commitment of local and international organizations to addressing food insecurity and promoting sustainable development. By providing essential support, the program strives to create a future where no one goes to bed hungry.
The initiative's focus on Bikita and Gutu wards reflects the urgent need for food assistance in these areas. By targeting vulnerable communities, the program aims to make a tangible difference in the lives of those most affected by hunger.
The partnership between the Zimbabwe Council of Churches, The United Church of Canada, and the Canadian Foodgrains Bank exemplifies the power of collective action in addressing pressing social issues. Together, they are working towards a shared vision of a hunger-free future, empowering communities to thrive and promoting sustainable development.
As the registration process continues, the Zimbabwe Council of Churches remains dedicated to supporting those in need, fostering resilience, and promoting food security in the region.
