A recent collaboration between CURE, the Zimbabwe Orthopedic Association (ZOA), Australian Doctors for Africa (ADFA), and Oxford University brought together surgeons from across Zimbabwe for an advanced Tumor Course in Bulawayo.

The comprehensive course aimed to enhance medical professionals' skills in diagnosing, identifying, and treating tumors. By sharpening these crucial skills, the training seeks to improve patient outcomes and increase survival rates.

Dr. Malvern Nyamutora, president of the Zimbabwe Orthopedic Association, emphasized the importance of such training. "These courses make a huge difference in training, raising awareness, and giving people hope that tumors can be treated."

CURE orthopedic surgeon Dr. Laurence highlighted the value of knowledge sharing, networking, and closing information gaps among surgeons and doctors. The training enables medical professionals to better tackle complex tumor cases and provide specialized care.

The successful collaboration demonstrates the positive impact of joint efforts in advancing medical training and improving patient care in Zimbabwe.
