📢 PUBLIC APPEAL: CALL FOR PEACE IN DRC
The Fellowship of Christian Councils in Southern Africa (FOCCISA) expresses deep sorrow over the escalating violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), particularly in Goma. Innocent civilians are suffering, and peacekeepers have lost their lives.
We call upon Presidents Felix Tshisekedi (DRC), Paul Kagame (Rwanda), and Cyril Ramaphosa (South Africa) to lead efforts at the upcoming SADC-East African Community Summit to ensure an immediate ceasefire and lasting peace.
As faith leaders, we stand firm on the words of Matthew 5:9: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.”
