ZCC joined the Ministry of Women Affairs to commemorate International Women's Day (#IWD2025) at Munyarari School in Manicaland Province yesterday. The event aimed to recognize and celebrate the roles women and girls play in Zimbabwean communities. The ZCC conducted civic awareness and exhibited its work on gender justice, where 200 awareness-raising IEC materials were distributed.
In her Official Address Minister of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Hon. Sen Monica Mutsvangwa emphasized the need to prioritize women's rights, empowerment, and equality. She highlighted that achieving gender parity is crucial for sustainable development and urged all stakeholders to work together to create a more inclusive society.
UNZimbabwe Chief Edward Kallon acknowledged that Zimbabwe has adopted policies and increased women's participation in leadership and the economy. He also emphasized that the Beijing Declaration remains a pivotal framework for women's rights.
